Day 82

Another day, another injured horse. Young horses are prone to issues but they are able to bounce back quicker than older ones. However it is still frustrating especially when they are training so well. Both horses ran well, the filly at Turfway just missed and the big gelding at FG had an eventful trip including jumping over a bare spot on the turf course and ran a good 4th. Good races are nice but we still need wins!

  1. I saw that move by the Klinkster-if nothing else he has potential as a hunter-jumper. Is it just me or is that turf course that bad? The horses always seems to swish side-to-side there late in the lane-like it's uneven or something. Saw another rider go down on the weeds there today. And that bare spot before the turn--that's about as bad as the wheel marks left by the gate in a deep, muddy track---a horse is going to jump that and a rider is going to get tossed soon. Oh well they close that joint soon--and my buddy's horse has gone 4 for 4 on that strip so he thinks it's great-guess your opinion of the conditions there depend on if you're winning or losing.

    Best,
    PEM
